St. Richard Catholic Youth Organization (CYO)

Welcome to St. Richard Church CYO Home Page

We believe that we have one of the best, if not thee best CYO in the region. We hope to showcase the activities and events of our parish CYO right here. We will be posting CYO sports highlights from our parish teams, providing news of upcoming events such as service, social, or spiritual opportunities for parish youth, and much, much more. We'll be adding links as the site continues to grow and develop. We'll be sure to post new links and updates on the parish home page. There's a lot more to come so check back often!

As part of our ongoing commitment to minister to our youngest parisihoners, St. Richard Church provides opportunities for our young parishioners to grow in Christian discipleship through a variety of programs that involve them in areas of service, spiritual and social development, and athletic and personal growth.

Our parish CYO ministers especially to students in sixth through eighth grade. This includes students who attend our parish school, as well as those attending area public and private schools.

Archdiocesan Athletic Ministry Mission Statement

CYO Sports is one component of a parish's comprehensive youth ministry program which enables the partnership of parents, coaches, priests, religious, teachers, and adult leaders to manage and support a sports program that allows youth to grow in their relationship with God and come to better understand themselves and the Catholic Faith.

Such a program:

  • employs healthy and enjoyable competition to promote the sharing of gospel values among athletes, parents and coaches.
  • assists parish leadership in nourishing the emotional, spiritual, social and physical needs of young people.
  • encourages young people to appreciate the gifts that they possess, and challenges them to share these gifts with their community.
  • allows youth to witness the life of Christian Discipleship in their coaches and adult leaders.
  • encourages youth to become responsible members of their faith community.
